MEC Dube-Ncube addresses King Cetshwayo District Development Summit

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube delivering a key note address on the first day of the two day District Growth and Development Summit. Among the issues discussed were; the Provincial Growth Development Strategy and Gap Analysis, Status of the District Growth Development Plan and its Alignment to the IDP, Trade and Investment Opportunities in the District, Role of Development Agencies, District Audit Outcomes, Inclusive Economic Growth, Human Resource Development, Human and Community Development, Spatial Equity, and Environmental Sustainability, Governance and Policy, Private and Public Partnerships, Provincial Master Plan and Implications for the District. The Summit was attended by the Mayors, Amakhosi, Private Sector, Government Departments, SALGA, Small Businesses at King Cetshwayo District Municipality on 23.05.18

Pledge signed with Big Business to ensure speedy payment for services

Ilembe Mayor Sduduzo Gumede, KwaDukuza Mayor Ricardo Mthembu joined by the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube on a Masakhane campaign, aimed at encouraging community members and the business owners to pay for services such as water, electricity, traffic fines and rates. The MEC and Mayors walked around the town of KwaDukuza, checking illegal connections, cleaning, visiting non-paying business owners and conducting a road block, before addressing the community at Darnall near Stanger on 10.05.18

Major campaign launched to recover R13.1-billion in municipal debt

Waste was removed from the illegal dump sites, electrification switch-on was conducted at the most needy community members, local Toyota branch was praised for paying their revenues and also for supporting the municipality with waste removal in the absence of its vehicles. Community were urged to pay for the municipal services to sustain the municipality, employees under the Community Works Programme were encouraged to act as custodians for the clean environment, the state of affairs for the municipality was communicated to the community and this was during the clean up campaign of the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube in Dumbe. 09.03.18.
