We wish to confirm that Councillor Bongani Hadebe is the duly elected and lawfully recognised Mayor of Dannhauser Local Municipality.
Any claims or actions by another individual purporting to hold this office are considered to be without legal standing and are in violation of established governance protocols.
Such behaviour undermines the stability and integrity of local government institutions.
The department calls upon the Speaker of the Dannhauser Local Municipality to uphold the Code of Conduct for Councillors and to take the necessary steps to ensure that the proper functioning of the council is maintained, and that the institution is not brought into disrepute.
