Durban, 19 February 2025 – In a proactive move to bolster disaster resilience across KwaZulu-Natal, MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, will sign a ground-breaking Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with key social partners. This landmark agreement formalises a powerful alliance to strengthen disaster preparedness, response, and mitigation efforts throughout the province.
This MOU signifies a crucial step towards a more coordinated and effective disaster management framework in KZN. By forging partnerships with the private sector and NGOs, the Department aims to leverage their expertise in disaster response, mitigation, and resource mobilisation. This collaborative approach will ensure a swift and impactful response when disaster strikes.
