The embattled eMadlangeni municipality in Utrecht, Northen KwaZulu-Natal, which was placed under provincial administration in terms of section 139(1)(b) of the Constitution, following the collapse of governance and service delivery, was paid a visit today by the KZN Cogta MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube where she addressed over 3000 community members who had gathered at the White City Sports Grounds at ward 2 on 31.01.17.

Thousands commemorate World Aids Day in Durban

“It is my right to know my status; Prevention is my responsibility” - with these words KZN MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in (Cogta) Nomusa Dube-Ncube opened the eThekwini commemorations of this year's World Aids Day where she was joined by eThekwini Mayor Cllr Zandile Gumede. The commemorations were hosted at the Rydalvale Sports Ground in Ward 49, Phoenix, in eThekwini Metro. The event saw close to two thousand community members coming together to remember the plight of those who are affected by this disease and the lives that have been lost to it. MEC Dube started at the Phoenix Taxi rank where she promoted a healthy life, distributed pamphlets and condoms.

Provincial government’s intervention ends illegal industrial action in Ugu District

KZN Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) has taken the drastic step of using its constitutional prerogative to dissolve the Nquthu municipal council elected during last year’s local government elections because of its protracted failure to elect office bearers, including a mayor and a speaker, due to political infighting. Cogta MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube made the announcement to members of the media in the press briefing at Mayville in Durban on 12.02.17

The KZN province launching a disaster relief fund to facilitate donations from corporates and private individuals to bolster government efforts In mitigating the impact of natural disasters.
