MEC HLOMUKA WELCOMES ARREST OF 2 SUSPECTS FOR MURDER OF INKOSI BIYELA

The work of bringing stability to the institution of traditional leadership within our province is one that requires all sectors of society.

Yesterday we learned that law enforcement agencies have made a breakthrough in their investigation of the murder of Inkosi Hlanganani Biyela who was murdered at his home on Sunday 13 November 2021 in Ndlangubo.

The latest information which we have received from law enforcement agencies indicates that 2 suspects have been arrested for the murder of Inkosi Biyela while a third died in a shootout with police.

These reports are a clear indication that law enforcement agencies are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to arrest those that are responsible for the assassinations of amakhosi and izinduna within our province.

These arrests send a strong message about the government’s commitment to stabilising the institution of traditional leadership within our province.

We also continue to call upon communities to come forward with information that will assist law enforcement agencies to apprehend those that are responsible for the attacks on amakhosi and izinduna.

Issued by the MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Sipho Hlomuka
