ULUNDI, The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Rev. Thulasizwe Buthelezi, has invoked Section 154 of the Constitution to deploy a Technical Expert to Endumeni Local Municipality.
The respected governance specialist, Mr Thando Manda, has been appointed by KZN COGTA to provide direct technical support and assist in resolving the institutional challenges that have hindered the adoption of the municipal budget.
This targeted intervention is aimed at ensuring the swift adoption of the budget to maintain operational stability and enhance service delivery to the residents of Endumeni.
Working alongside the Mayor, Cllr AM Mkhize, the Municipal Manager and the entire council, Mr Manda will be submitting weekly progress reports to the MEC.
MEC Buthelezi reaffirms KZN COGTA’s commitment to working with local leadership and municipal structures to restore effective governance and ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
