MEC Dube-Ncube condemns armed robbery at department’s Mayville offices

KZN Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) has taken the drastic step of using its constitutional prerogative to dissolve the Nquthu municipal council elected during last year’s local government elections because of its protracted failure to elect office bearers, including a mayor and a speaker, due to political infighting. Cogta MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube made the announcement to members of the media in the press briefing at Mayville in Durban on 12.02.17

MEC Dube-Ncube meets with uMdoni communities in bid to improve service delivery

The slow pace of the sanitation project in Umdoni angered the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube. The MEC visited various infrastructural projects before responding to the questions asked during the community engagement. Engineers from Cogta were tasked to assist the appointed contractors to ensure that no further delays take place in the construction of a new sewer plant in the area. The visit was part of the Cabinet Operation Sukuma Sakhe at Umdoni Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast on 31.10.18

MEC Dube-Ncube commends staff for departments accolades

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube described women as undefeated warriors. The MEC was delivering her keynote address during the women empowerment and breast cancer awareness which was attended by all the women employees within her department. The MEC also dedicated all the awards won by the department to the staff. She said she commends most those who are responsible for making sure that there is a tea, water or the office is clean every day. The event took place at the Olive Convention centre on 23.10.18

Households given lightning rods as KZN launches summer disaster awareness campaign in Nongoma

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube launching the Provincial disaster awareness campaign in Nongoma. The MEC cautioned about the disaster causes and also explained the types of interventions from the department. The event was attended by more than 1000 community members, Zululand District Mayor Thulasizwe Buthelezi, Amakhosi, Izinduna and the representatives from the other departments at Ekubungazeleni in Nongoma on 18.10.18
