14 April 2026 – In an effort to restore the original objectives of the Ingonyama Trust and with the aim of proposing legislative reforms that will enhance the accountability, impact and governance of the Ingonyama Trust Board, His Majesty King MISUZULU kaZwelithini will be dispatching a delegation known as the INGONYAMA TRUST ROYAL PANEL to meet with 13 out of the 18 political parties represented in Parliament.
This interaction will be aimed at conveying His Majesty’s proposals on the Ingonyama Trust which will ultimately require Parliament to enact amendments of the INGONYAMA TRUST ACT of 1994 as amended in 1997.
The delegation will be led by the Traditional Prime Minister of the Zulu Nation, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, and includes Amakhosi, senior members of the Royal family, academics and legal experts.
The delegation has confirmed consultations with the following political parties;
ANC, DA, MKP. EFF, IFP, ACDP, BOSA, ACTIONSA, RISE MZANSI, PAC, PA, FF PLUS, ACDP and UDM.
The consultations will take place over 2 days in Parliament on the 22nd and 23rd April 2026.
